Divya Delhi: Punjab began a Girdawari (crop damage assessment) to assess flood damage. The Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management Minister of Punjab, S. Hardeep Singh Mundian, urged all officers to do this transparently, rapidly, and effectively to ensure no family is refused compensation.S. Hardeep Singh Mundian said Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann ordered this wartime campaign. The Chief Minister promises Punjab flood victims 45 days of compensation. According to him, the process will be fair and the affected parties are entitled to compensation.According to the Revenue Minister, officers who are careless or tardy will be disciplined. He promised that the state administration will personally watch the Girdawari procedure daily to ensure fairness and efficiency.For quick review, the Cabinet Minister despatched unaffected revenue officers to flood-hit communities.Following the Chief Minister's announcement of Punjab's highest-ever compensation payout, the Cabinet Minister said farmers and people have one week to object so adjustments may be addressed fast. He stated that farmers will receive ₹20,000 per acre for crop loss, families with demolished houses will receive ₹1,000,000, and partially damaged dwellings will receive ₹40,000. Regulations recompense livestock losses, with cows or buffaloes earning ₹37,500 and goats ₹4,000.
