Divya Delhi: Faith, the indefinable longing for inner spiritual tranquility, and a chance to touch with the holy and supreme led millions to Prayagraj from This assemblage was organic like the happiness that comes from that holy plunge in the Ganga in an age where conventions, traditions, faith, and beliefs are promoted. People from New Delhi to New York, Surat to Switzerland, united by faith and a desire for more. In a news item about over 200 foreign devotees attending the Mahakumbh on February 1, I noticed that majority called Ganga "Maa Ganga." For many, this was a ‘miracle’ rather than a ‘spectacle.’ This miracle impacted millions and stayed with them for life. A miracle of pure faith, untarnished by modern life. Technology connects millions throughout the world, but social and economic boundaries like caste, creed, religion, race, and financial status separate neighbors. Crores of people putting aside these divisions, getting together, and bathing in the same water is a miracle. For example, the Mahakumbh resisted the distinction between artha and aadhyatma—economic and commercial endeavors vs spirituality. Over 66 crore people took the holy dip, and the Mahakumbh boosted the economy. Government estimates say it will enhance the state's by nearly Rs 3 lakh crore. Today's world-famous Uttar Pradesh has Mahakumbh Mela potential. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath responded to a Vidhan Sabha question from the Samajwadi Party (SP) by saying the Mahakumbh alone will boost the economy by over Rs 3 lakh crore.
