Divya Delhi: Larsen & Toubro delivered the first set of LCA Mk1A wing assemblies to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, the Ministry of Defence announced. Secretary (Defence Production) Sanjeev Kumar attended remotely, while General Manager (LCA Tejas Division) M Abdul Salam received the assembly for HAL from L&T's Precision Manufacturing and Systems Complex. The Defence Production Secretary praised HAL and L&T's self-reliance initiatives in his Thursday address. His praise was for HAL's leadership in cultivating private sector partners and enhancing competence. He believed he could reach LCA Tejas' production objective. Expanding horizons and lessening dependence on other countries were his goals. HAL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) DK Sunil said the handover was a monument to years of dedicated handholding and a shared commitment to excellence from HAL and L&T. HAL is collaborating with major and small vendors to achieve Aatmanirbharta in aerospace and defense. He added HAL created a commercial aircraft structural assembly factory to boost LCA Tejas capacity.
