Divya Delhi: Korea will host World Environment Day 2025 on June 5. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) leads this year's plastic pollution campaign. It urges countries, organizations, and individuals to collaborate and defend the Earth. The 2025 World Environment Day theme is “Beat Plastic Pollution.” The UNEP campaign site states, “Plastic pollution permeates every corner of the planet—even in our bodies as microplastics. Plastic pollution must be addressed collectively on World Environment Day 2025. UNEP stated, “Republic of Korea will host World Environment Day 2025 with a focus on ending plastic pollution globally. Plastic pollution reduction helps achieve the Sustainable Development Goals on climate action, sustainable production and consumption, ocean protection, ecosystem repair, and biodiversity.
