Divya Delhi: Dr. Walter Ladwig, King's College senior lecturer of International Relations and security specialist, claimed Friday that India hit more targets and executed more missions than Pakistan. “I think India was successful in striking a much wider range of targets and executing more successful missions than the Pakistan side was, which sort of explains why there’s so much more information, images and so forth in the open domain that would appear to corroborate the majority of the Indians claims versus Pakistanis,” Dr. Ladwig said. Previous US administrations, including George W. Bush, have aimed to strengthen India as a partner in the Indo-Pacific, partly as a counterweight to China. Conflict between India and Pakistan distracts India from larger Asian challenges, which is bad for the US. India is developing rapidly, little under 7% a year, but it has to grow faster to satisfy development goals. Dr. Ladwig said a prolonged confrontation or stalemate with Pakistan would jeopardize all of those things, which is not in America's interest.
