Divya Delhi : Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairman Manoj Kumar said a national-level exposition was held at Prayagraj during the Maha Kumbh from January 14 to February 27, 2025. PM Modi's 'Khadi Revolution' led to record Khadi product sales of Rs 12.02 crore at the event. He added that 98 Khadi and 54 village industry kiosks sold Rs 9.76 crore and Rs 2.26 crore in items at the exhibition. Kumar presented 2,050 bee boxes, honey colonies, and toolkits to 205 beekeepers in six states via video conference from KVIC's Rajghat office in Delhi to support the ‘New Khadi for New India’ movement. At the distribution program, KVIC Chairman Kumar said the ‘Honey Mission’ distributes bee colonies and boxes to beekeepers in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's objective of spreading the ‘Sweet Revolution’ across villages. Chairman KVIC told craftsmen that PM Modi had called for a ‘Sweet Revolution’ alongside the ‘White Revolution’ in 2016 from Banaskantha’s Deesa in Gujarat. Inspired by this, KVIC launched the ‘Honey Mission’ in 2017, giving over 20,000 beneficiaries two lakh bee boxes and colonies. In the 75th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ the Prime Minister emphasized bee farming's benefits, emphasizing that bee wax is a major source of income along with honey.
