Divya Delhi: Police claimed five persons, including a newlywed couple from Madhya Pradesh, were killed and eight injured when their car collided with a truck on the Dausa-Manoharpur National Highway (NH-148) in Jaipur on Wednesday morning. The Madhya Pradesh newlyweds were driving to Dausa with 10 people when a speeding truck from the wrong side hit their car. The passengers returned from Madhya Pradesh after attending the newlyweds' wedding. Car had at least 12 passengers. Five people died and eight were injured when it hit the vehicle, Raisar police station SHO Raghuveer Singh said. Police said the truck driver left the crash around 6 a.m. “We are looking for him,” stated an officer. Six passengers were driven to the hospital by locals, where medics found five dead and eight in critical condition. The victims are Bharti Meena, 18, her husband Vikram, 25, Jetu Kumawat, 33, Subhash Meena, 28, and Ravi Kumar, 17. The autopsies have been scheduled and family members notified. They will file a FIR upon arrival. Singh said investigation is underway.
