Divya Delhi: Indian Gold Prices Today, June 26: Gold and silver prices in India plummeted on Wednesday as US President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire in the Israel-Iran dispute, prompting profit-booking amid geopolitical calm. Gold cost Rs 90,700 per 10 grams for 22-carat and Rs 98,950 for 24-carat in Mumbai. Silver fell to Rs 1,08,900 per kilogram in the city. Making charges and 3% GST are not included in spot prices. In contrast, MCX gold futures increased 0.24% to Rs 97,257 per 10 kilos. Morning trade saw silver rise 0.24% to 1,05,174 per kg. Following Israel's June 13 ‘Operation Rising Lion’ strike on Iran's nuclear and military sites, gold prices surged. The raid happened a day after the IDF warned Tehran residents to flee. After weeks of growing tensions, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared the operation will "roll back the Iranian threat to Israel's very survival." The earlier missile and drone attack by Iran in response to an Israeli strike on its Damascus consulate sparked this escalation. On the first day of the Israel-Iran war, gold and silver prices rose, bolstering safe-haven demand. However, the prices are hovering around the same level since then.
