Divya Delhi: Jannik Sinner won his 21st career title with a convincing 6-2, 6-2 victory over American adolescent Learner Tien in the China Open final. On the Beijing hard courts, the world number two won the China Open for the second time by defeating Daniil Medvedev in the final. Italian 24-year-old becomes only the third player in history to win China Open several times, after Novak Djokovic (6 titles) and Rafael Nadal (2 titles).Sinner only lost on Beijing's Diamond Court to Carlos Alcaraz in last year's final. But Alcaraz's decision not to defend his championship and win the Japan Open in Tokyo helped Sinner capitalize in Beijing.Sinner broke Tien's serve in the first game of his maiden ATP final. The 19-year-old American, ranked 52nd in the world, showed promise but fell short of Sinner's consistency and offense. The Italian completed the match in over an hour with 10 aces, denying Tien momentum. If Tien had won, he would have been the lowest-ranked China Open victor and the second-youngest American ATP title-winner after Andy Roddick.Sinner's third triumph of the season after his Australian Open and Wimbledon wins. Since Alcaraz didn't play in the Shanghai Masters because he was hurt, Sinner may now have a good chance to become world number one again before the end of the season.
