J&K: High-Level Security Meeting in Srinagar Amid Rising Terrorism

Divya Delhi: In reaction to a recent spike in terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, Lt. Gov. Manoj Sinha held a vital high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room in Srinagar. The meeting follows an IED detonation in Akhnoor, Jammu, near the , raising security concerns in the. Senior officials from the Army, Police, and Central Reserve Police Force, as well as security agency representatives, attended the conference, according to government sources. The talks mostly centered on evaluating the Kashmir Zone's security situation, with a review of the Jammu Zone planned for tomorrow.This strategic gathering followed a series of back-to-back security talks conducted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi, reaffirming the central government’s commitment to achieving the zero terrorist activity in the  of J&K.Today's discussion focused on counter-terrorism, infiltration attempts, and the worrying rise of drug misuse in Kashmir. The recent demonstrations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir by terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed were also noted, where threats to ramp up Kashmir activities were issued.In light of these events, the Army and Border Security Force were ordered to keep a close watch on the International Border (IB) and LOC to prevent terrorist infiltration. The discussion stressed the need for a quick and firm response to infiltration attempts.The Army has raised its alert level along the LOC in Kashmir Valley after a slew of terrorist attacks in Jammu that killed an officer and injured numerous soldiers.Present at the conference were Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police , senior police officers from the Kashmir zone, top Army brass, and representatives from other security agencies, all dedicated to restoring complete peace and security in the region.
