Divya Delhi: External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar praised the US for labeling the organization a “Foreign Terrorist Organisation.” The April 22 Pahalgam terror incident was also claimed by Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) affiliate, the Resistance Front (TRF). Jaishankar called the US Department of State's move a "strong affirmation of India-US counter-terrorism cooperation."Thanks SecRubio and @StateDept for recognizing Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT) proxy TRF as an FTO and SDGT. It admitted to the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Terrorism is unacceptable, Jaishankar said. Under US anti-terrorism laws, TRF, a proxy of Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, claimed responsibility for the Pahalagam terror incident, according to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The April 22 tourist spot attack in Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 civilians and sparked a four-day military escalation between India and Pakistan. The US designated the group a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist. This was India's bloodiest civilian strike since LeT's 2008 Mumbai attacks, according to the US.
