Divya Delhi : The Defence Forces reported Israel launched a huge airstrike on Yemen on Sunday amid rising Middle East tensions. The strike reportedly targeted a senior Houthi military leader. The strikes targeted Muhammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, IDF sources told the Jerusalem Post. However, the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) has not commented on the incident. Israel is also bombing Tehran to intercept Iranian rockets. Houthi rebels in Yemen supported Tehran, saying it had a “legitimate right to defend itself,” Al Jazeera reported. The Houthis blasted Israeli bombings on Iran and said it has the “full and legitimate right to respond.” Israel attacked Hodeidah, Yemen's fourth largest city, overnight on June 10 and said Houthi rebels use the port to smuggle weapons. Houthi reports stated two port piers were cremated. Israeli naval ships launched missiles at seaports, the military claimed moments later. But the casualties are still unknown. Reports say the Israeli strike was in retaliation to a Houthi rocket that missed its target.
