Divya Delhi:  CNN reported on Tuesday (local time) that multiple US officials have found new evidence that Israel is actively preparing for a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, despite President Donald Trump's diplomatic efforts. CNN said that “the chance of an Israeli strike on an Iranian nuclear facility has gone up significantly,” especially if Washington's deal fails to curtail Iran's uranium enrichment.
According to CNN, the US assessment is based on intercepted Israeli communications and apparent military operations, including aerial weapons repositioning and a big Israeli air drill. Officials cautioned that these steps may be part of Israel's diplomatic pressure on Iran rather than a hint of approaching military action. CNN reports that such an attack would deviate from Trump's diplomacy and potentially escalate Middle East violence. Since the Gaza war began in 2023, the US has avoided escalation. Although he has pledged engagement with Iran, President Trump has threatened military action if talks fail.
