Divya Delhi:  A recent story says Instagram will add a downvote or dislike button for comments. Instagram has stated that was testing a way via which users can signal and indicate whether they liked a comment or not. The feature would work on feed posts and Reels. Adam Mosseri said on Threads that the company won't show dislike counts, so no one will know whether you disliked a comment. He said dislike counts would eventually be used to rate comments. Some of you may have seen that we’re testing a new button next to comments on Instagram. This allows people to privately express that they don’t like a comment. To be clear, this is a test. There is no dislike count, and no one will know if you tap the button. We may use this signal to rank comments and reduce unfavorable ones. Our objective is that this might help make comments more pleasant on Instagram,” Mosseri said- as per Meta has reported that the test has been planned to contribute towards improving the equity as well as the quality of the comment section. The new function will provide users more control over the information, according to viral remarks online. This skill would enable users critique well. We’re working on ways to help customers better control their Instagram experience and what they’re seeing on the app,” a company spokesperson said. “We're testing a new button next to each comment on a Reel or Feed post for people to privately signal they don't feel good about that comment or find it relevant. We're starting with a small test group. They said, "We may also test moving these comments lower in the comments section to improve the experience."
