Divya Delhi: Junior World Championship in Peru: Indian Shooters Win 2 Team Gold MedalsIndian shooters started their ISSF Junior World Championship (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun) campaign in Peru by winning team gold in men's and women's 10m air pistol events. However, a shooter was docked two points for reporting late for the final, preventing a top-podium finish. Junior men Umesh Choudhary, Pradhyumn Singh, and Mukesh Nelavalli won the 10m air pistol team competition with 1726 points. Romania finished second, 10 points behind, while Italy claimed bronze with 1707. After reporting late for the final, Choudhary lost two points and missed a gold medal. Choudhary and Singh appeared in the individual finals after finishing third and fourth in qualification. Choudhary shot 580 and Singh 578 but finished sixth and eighth despite missing medals. Luca Joldea of Romania won gold while Hsieh Hsiang-Chen of Chinese Taipei won silver. Nelavalli scored 574 to finish seventh in qualifying. Kanishka Dagar, Lakshita, and Anjali Chaudhary won the junior women's 10m air pistol team gold with 1708. They beat Azerbaijan by one point and bronze-winning Ukraine by four. Dagar and Kanika, who shot 573 but with lower inner 10s, made the individual final in third and fifth place, respectively.
