Divya Delhi: The Indian Army stopped a massive infiltration attempt by heavily equipped Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gambhir, Rajouri. According to Army sources, the Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) launched a well-coordinated counter-infiltration operation on June 29 after receiving intelligence of a new JeM terrorist infiltration attempt across the LoC. Guards in Gambhir's difficult terrain saw 4-5 highly armed people trying to cross the border exploiting the deep cover and terrain. Indian troops decisively injured infiltrating militants. Four suspected JeM members were injured while trying to escape and had to retreat back across the LoC under thick foliage and bad weather, while one, later identified as a guide, was apprehended by security forces. After the infiltration attempt failed, a thorough search operation recovered crucial artifacts like a mobile phone and Pakistani cash, sources said. After interrogation, the apprehended person admitted to living in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir near the LoC and working for Pakistan Army officers. He also said the JeM terrorists had a lot of warlike supplies, including rifles, ammo, and other evidence of their malicious goals. According to sources, the joint interrogation team is thoroughly interrogating the guide to extract vital intelligence that will reinforce the counter-infiltration grid.
