Divya Delhi: The Indian government may blue antimicrobial drug strips to alert customers. The Indian drug regulator may color all antibacterial strips blue to fight superbugs. Customers should be warned that their medication is different. AMR occurs when bacteria and other illnesses develop antibiotic resistance, making treatments worthless when patients are sick. The Global Research on Antimicrobial Resistance (GRAM) Project, published in The Lancet on Tuesday, showed that bacterial antimicrobial resistance killed 3-10.4 lakh Indians in 2019. Over 39 million antibiotic-resistant illnesses will kill by 2050. Antibiotics, antivirals, antiparasites, and antifungals are antimicrobials. Drug Consultative Committee (DCC) of Central Drugs Standard Control Organization considered proposal.
