Divya Delhi: According to stock market business ACMIIL, the India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) may serve as a blueprint for India's future trade negotiations with other industrialized nations. The transaction also changes India's trade strategy to acquire sophisticated technologies, accelerate industrial growth, and boost its position in the global economy, according to the article. It said, “Once India-U.S. Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) finalized, it will likely set a precedent for future trade negotiations with other developed economies.” The newspaper noted that the deal supports India's “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliance) efforts. These schemes enhance indigenous output and reduce imports. India may lower tariffs on American agricultural and food products under the BTA. This will expand American food exports to India and provide Indian consumers additional options. In return, India will benefit by importing advanced US technologies in critical areas like defence, clean energy, and high-end manufacturing. India's long-term prosperity and security depend on these sectors.
