Divya Delhi: On the closing day of the third edition of India Energy Week 2025, petroleum and natural gas Hardeep Puri praised the flagship energy event's record participation and exhibitor numbers and technical paper submissions. The world’s second-largest energy event completed smoothly, welcoming over 70,000 people, over 600 exhibitors, and ten international pavilions over four days. With nine focused themes, it presented major technologies, strategic alliances, and policy insights impacting the global energy environment. The Union minister said the event exceeded expectations by covering a wide variety of sectors, including petroleum, natural gas, green energy, biofuel, and compressed biogas, demonstrating innovative advances. Puri noted that in just three years, India Energy Week has become the world's second-largest energy platform, with its fourth iteration set for Goa in 2026.The Minister said IEW 2025 stood out from other global energy gatherings by enabling real commercial transactions instead of just networking. Hardeep Puri noted practical advancements like the HPCL stall's cost-effective conversion kit for biofuel use in two- and three-wheelers. The Minister was very pleased to see investors, manufacturers, and customers come together, especially in the flex-fuel car show. The Minister said that India-US energy cooperation has made great strides, especially in natural gas. The Minister stressed the importance of the US-India partnership for liquefied natural gas and India's goal of growing natural gas consumption from 6% to 15% in its energy mix. Addressing reforms in the Exploration and Production sector, Puri revealed the extent of Open Acreage Licensing Program (OALP) Round X comprising nearly 200,000 square kilometers. The Minister said that the increased interest in this round is due to systematic regulatory reforms, the shift from production to revenue-sharing systems, and the proposed changes to the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act 1948. Puri further said that the new legislative framework, built via thorough consultations.
