Divya Delhi: As the language controversy raged across India, Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu said Hindi binds and that learning it is harmless. Khandu said learning Hindi, a connecting language in Arunachal, where each tribe has its own dialect and language, is harmless. People from another tribe won't understand my dialect. Therefore, everyone speaks Hindi. Grammatical errors are inevitable, but villages will speak Hindi even if you visit. “We speak Hindi in elections and the Assembly,” CM Khandu said. With 26 main tribes and nearly 100 sub-tribes, the state speaks many languages. He added that Hindi dominates daily engagement, from informal village chats to legislative Assembly debates. Security forces and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) operate in the state, which the Chief Minister stressed was crucial. Most of its employees speak Hindi, which boosts usage in Arunachal.
