Divya Delhi:Karnataka HC Rejects Siddaramaiah's Plea Against Governor's MUDA Prosecution, Big Setback. On Tuesday, the Karnataka High Court rejected Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's appeal challenging Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's clearance of a probe against him in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment matter. A single-judge bench of Justice M Nagaprasanna ruled. “Petition facts need investigation. The Karnataka High Court denied the plea. The court also allowed the Governor to decide independently. The decree was not hasty or lacking in thought by the Governor, it noted. “The Governor has to act on aid and advice in normal cases but this is an exception,” the court said. After all hearings, the High Court reserved the order on September 12. The court extended its August 19 interim order, ordering the special court for people's representatives to delay hearing accusations against him until the petition was decided. The MUDA site allocation issue alleges that Siddaramaiah's wife BM Parvathi was given compensated sites in an elite Mysuru suburb with higher property values than her land, which the MUDA "acquired". Parvathi received 50:50 plots from MUDA in exchange for 3.16 acres of her land, where MUDA created a residential layout.
