Divya Delhi: A Khon dance and sitar concert were held at the Indian Embassy in Bangkok to commemorate Indo-Thai cultural links. This event took place in Thailand as part of SAMVAD-IV. Noparuj Satjawan played the sitar, and Khwanfa Phoophangsute's ensemble performed the Khon dance, a Thai adaptation of the Ramayana. The venue for the event was Bangkok's Rembrandt Hotel. The Thai dance known as Khon, which has been recognized by UNESCO, narrates the tale of Lord Ram, including his exile, alliance with Hanuman, and conflict with the king of giants. In his virtual speech to SAMVAD, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the close cultural ties that have existed between Thailand and India for more than 2,000 years. He highlighted the two nations' common customs, including as Buddhism and the Ramayana, as well as their cultural exchange, which includes India donating Buddha relics to Thailand. Modi also discussed the event's subject, the Asian Century, emphasizing social and economic ideals. Their common history, religion, and cultural customs all demonstrate the close ties that exist between Thailand and India.
