Divya Delhi: Hyderabad is unlike other cities where language or community divides. Every time I read about Kannada or Marathi speakers chastising people for not understanding the local language, I felt glad that my city has never forced anybody, especially migrant populations, to leave. The day has come. In Hyderabad, Telangana organizations are promoting ‘Marwari go back’. A Marwari merchant and a marginalized Secunderabad resident fought earlier last month. Politicians must now address the issue, which has become a full-blown split. The ruling Congress is cautious, while the BJP has backed the Marwari community (Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has spoken out). A local TV program asked Telangana Congress president Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud about this. He stated everyone should trade freely. Business travelers from one state to another are not asked to leave. CM will be informed. Gujaratis, Marwaris, and Vaishyas should not practice Hera Pheri and trade fairly, he stated.Given that he did not exclude out local malfeasance, his comment is intriguing. After an isolated confrontation, muttered emotions have grown.
