Divya Delhi:  This millennium, Akshay Kumar's films became more sophisticated. His being here carries a certain amount of restriction. For an actor who was considered to be among the wooden until lately, his portrayal of the anguish and agony of an unattainable love is quite unexpected. The outcomes of director Raj Kanwar's latest attempts to improve his performance have been lackluster. The box office success of Andaaz and Dhai Akshar Prem Ke overshadowed their creator's poetic ambitions. This time, Kanwar does it more accurately. "Love versus obligation" is a common theme in our movies. The treatment is the hope for redemption. And the way the jukebox-symphony progresses doesn't entirely disappoint us. The movement of the mix-and-match love narrative has a certain ambiguous grace. When the jumbled game of musical chairs finally comes to an end, Aditya (Akshay) and Jia (Katrina), who are engaged to the wrong life partners, must proceed toward that inevitable mutual embrace. There are a number of musical numbers interspersed with visually striking élan. In one of them, which is shot at a lavish feast, Helen, the cabaret queen of the past, even breaks into a sassy jig.
