Divya Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi blamed Narendra Modi for “allowing” Manipur's violence by not coming earlier. "I'm delighted he decided to visit after 2 years. He should have visited earlier. "It's unfortunate that he has allowed what is happening there to happen for so long, so many people to die and so much strife before he decided to visit," Priyanka Gandhi told Wayanad reporters. She noted that PM Modi is only “fulfilling” that tradition two years after the violence began by visiting afflicted communities. “That is not the Indian Prime Ministerial tradition. No matter the party, they went where there was misery and suffering. That's the norm since independence. Considering he fulfilled it after 2 years, he should have thought of it earlier. Earlier in the day, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge called the Prime Minister's visit a “pitstop” and “farce.”
