Divya Delhi: As the AGI competition heats up, Google has forced its DeepMind team to work 60-hour weeks, sparking global criticism. As the race to artificial general intelligence grows, Google co-founder Sergey Brin suggests 12-hour workdays for DeepMind AI employees. As reported by The New York Times, Sergey Brin stated Wednesday that the corporation might dominate the industry in artificial general intelligence if staff worked more. I suggest working every weekday. He said in a statement to Gemini staff on Wednesday night that 60 hours a week is the sweet spot of production. The note came as Google DeepMind (GDM) and its Gemini AI program completed two years. Google releases AI models and applications to stay ahead in the AI race. He noted that competition has increased and the last race to A.G.I. is underway. I believe we have everything to win this race, but we must turbocharge our efforts.” He advised Google employees to use its A.I. more for coding in the memo. He also urged Gemini personnel to be “the most efficient coders and A.I. scientists in the world by using our own A.I.” The New York Post published Brin's complete memo, which stressed working out of Google headquarters “because physically being together is far more effective for communication.” “I recommend being in the office at least every week day,” stated Alphabet's former president. Companies worldwide are requiring full-time office work to enhance efficiency. AT&T, JPMorgan Chase, and Goldman Sachs are among the Indian and multinational companies with such orders. Starting in 2025, Amazon corporate workers must work from the office five days a week, the company stated in September.
