Divya Delhi: In order to counter the escalating space threats posed by North Korea, China, and Russia, the US Space Force is bolstering its presence in Japan. This week, senior US Space Force officers traveled to Japan to collaborate with US Space Force members and strengthen their relationship with Japan's Self Defense Force (JSDF). Over the next two years, the Space Force will increase its presence in Japan, according to Lieutenant General David Miller, director of the US Space Operations Command. He underlined how crucial US-Japan alliances are to the Indo-Pacific area. Miller and other officials met with US Space Forces Japan at Yokota Air Base and Japan's Space Operations Group at Fuchu Air Base. Additionally, in November 2024, the United States and Japan took part in Exercise Keen Sword, a combined military drill designed to increase preparedness. The exercise this year was the biggest since it started in 1986.
