Divya Delhi:  Many international students dream of attending US colleges. The US is known for its top universities, diverse academic offerings, and active campus culture, offering many professional opportunities. Due of US tuition, students are sometimes discouraged from applying. Due to exorbitant tuition, living fees, and other costs, many potential students seek elsewhere. Some American institutions offer free tuition, work-study, or full scholarships to qualified students. In line with other top universities, Harvard University now offers free education to students from low-income families. This benefit was formerly limited to households earning up to $85,000. Like Harvard, the University of Texas System, MIT, and Penn provide tuition-free or significantly subsidized programs. These colleges provide grants and scholarships instead of debt. Each institution's eligibility conditions depend on family assets and income. Many institutions don't recognize home equity as a family's assets to make financial aid easier for middle-class families. More than 100 US public and private universities offer free tuition to qualifying students.
