Divya Delhi: 19 Oct 2024 Delhi Next January, New Delhi will host the first Kho Kho World Cup. The first Kho Kho World Cup will be hosted at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to 19 next year, organizers announced Wednesday.The tournament will exhibit India's indigenous sport worldwide. Team Maharashtra defeated Rest of India 26-24 in an exhibition match during the announcement ceremony.The celebration also revealed the World Cup's logo and tagline #TheWorldGoesKho.The tournament will include 24 nations, both men's and women's, competing for glory.With 16 teams per division, the meet promises tight competition."Kho Kho is a national mud sport. Therefore, we are happy to bring this sport to the mat. I thank the federation for its efforts to make Kho Kho a worldwide sport "KKFI president Sudhanshu Mittal stated."We first brought the sport to its fans through the Ultimate Kho Kho League, and now, it is time to take things to the next step with the first Kho Kho World Cup," he said.Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse attended.Since the Mahabharata, Kho Kho has been part of our history.
