Divya Delhi: The Supreme Court will hear Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's appeal today, June 26. The plea challenges the Delhi High Court's suspension of the trial court's bail granted to Aam Aadmi Party chairman in the Delhi liquor policy case. The Enforcement Directorate is investigating. Kejriwal may not be released from Tihar jail soon even if the highest court grants him bail. Why? Because the CBI questioned Kejriwal in Tihar Jail on June 25 and recorded his case-related statements. The CBI has permission to bring Kejriwal to trial on June 26. According to India Today sources, the CBI may arrest Kejriwal. According to India Today, a special court granted the CBI a production warrant for Arvind Kejriwal. Arvind Kejriwal is already in ED judicial custody, thus any other agency must arrest him in court. Even if the Supreme Court granted release, Kejriwal won't be able to leave Tihar jail today if the CBI captures him.c ED detained Arvind Kejriwal on March 21. A Delhi court granted him bail on June 20. Kejriwal was released on a ₹1 lakh personal bond by the court. The ED appealed the bail ruling to the Delhi High Court. Next day, the Delhi High Court delayed Arvind Kejriwal's bail and deferred its order for June 25. Kejriwal appealed HC's release delay to Supreme Court.The Supreme Court advised Arvind Kejriwal to await the High Court's decision. On June 25, the HC ruled that the trial court did not set Arvind Kejriwal's release terms under the PMLA, under which he was charged.
