Divya Delhi : The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) published UPS operationalization regulations. Following the UPS notification from January 24, 2025, the notification is from March 19. The restrictions take effect on April 1, 2025. According to the Ministry of Finance, the PFRDA released the PFRDA (Operationalisation of the Unified Pension Scheme under NPS) Regulations, 2025 by gazette notification on March 19, 2025. The notification from PFRDA states that these Regulations allow three kinds of central government employees to enroll. 1. A NPS-covered central government employee as of April 1, 2025. 2. Central government hire on or after April 1, 2025. 3. A central government employee covered by NPS who has superannuated, voluntarily retired, or retired under Fundamental Rules 56(j) on or before 31 March 2025 and is eligible for UPS, or the legally wedded spouse of a subscriber who has demised before exercising UPS. Online enrollment and claim forms will be available for all central government employee categories. From April 1, 2025, employees can access these forms on Protean CRA's website. – Employees can also submit forms in person. Unified Pension Scheme will soon benefit Central Government NPS workers. The Department of Financial Services notified UPS employees that the rate of full assured payout will be 50% of 12 monthly average basic pay, immediately prior to superannuation. Full compensation is guaranteed after 25 years of qualified service.”
