Divya Delhi: According to FADA data, electric passenger vehicle (EV) sales reached 4% in May, up from 2.6% in 2024. Retail sales rose 0.5% in May from 3.5% in April. Rising retail sales indicate a shift in consumer adoption of EVs, accelerating the transition to cleaner mobility. Retail data reveals electric passenger vehicle players sold 12,304 units, up from 8,029 in May 2024. The April retail sale was 12,233 units, according to FADA. According to FADA figures released on Friday, auto players saw a 5% increase in May compared to last year. The two-wheeler segment did best, rising 7.3% year-over-year. Three-wheelers rose 6.2%, and tractors rose 2.7% year-over-year. FADA reported that semi-urban/rural demand due to auspicious marriage dates, Rabi harvest, and pre-monsoon pull boosted two-wheeler sales year-over-year. However, economy segment funding limits cap upside, causing a nearly 2% fall.
