Divya Delhi: Karnataka's MLA for the Chitradurga constituency, KC Veerendra, was taken into custody by the Enforcement Department (ED) in Gangktok on Saturday in relation to a case involving illicit internet and offline betting. About Rs 12 crore in cash, including about Rs 1 crore in foreign currency, Rs 6 crore worth of gold jewelry, about 10 kg of silver items, and four vehicles were retrieved by the ED under the PMLA, 2002. According to sources, the operations are purportedly run out of Dubai by KC Veerendra's brother. The Congress MLA appeared before the Gangtok judicial magistrate. The ED detectives searched the following casinos in Goa: Big Daddy Casino, Ocean Rivers Casino, Puppy's Casino Pride, Ocean 7 Casino, and Puppy's Casino Gold. The Congress MLA is connected to these casinos.
