Ratan Tata left more than ₹3 crore to his office and home personnel in his will. Ratan Tata, who died in October 2024, gave his executors instructions to allocate ₹15 lakh of his inheritance proportionately among domestic employees who had served for him for more than seven years, according to the Times of India. According to his will, car cleaners and part-time employees would receive ₹1 lakh. Although these employees were particularly named in Tata's will, the majority of his ₹3,800 crore inheritance was given to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust. The Times of India reports that Ratan Tata left his longtime cook, Rajan Shaw, over ₹1 crore, along with a ₹51 lakh loan discharge. His secretary, Delnaz Gilder, was left with ₹10 lakh, while his butler, Subbaiah Konar, would receive ₹66 lakh, which includes a ₹36 lakh loan that has been waived. In order to distribute his apparel to the underprivileged, Ratan Tata also ordered that it be donated to non-governmental organizations (NGOs). He wore Brioni suits, Daks, Polo, Hermes ties, and Brooks Brother shirts.
