The film became the first Marathi IMAX film after its enormous popularity.‘Dashavatar’ made this a Marathi movie milestone. It opened well at the box office, but word-of-mouth made it successful. According to Bollywood Hungama, Mumbai theater owners have planned IMAX screenings for "Dashavatar." The film was shown at Mumbai's Eros IMAX.It stars Dilip Prabhavalkar, Bharat Jadhav, Mahesh Manjrekar, Siddharth Menon, Abhinay Berde, and Priyadarshini Indalkar. Prabhavalkar told Hindustan Times why he accepted the film. He stated, “The film offered something new and very challenging. I choose projects based on more than popularity or convenience. Writers often construct personalities for me, but I don't always like them. I request a synopsis, then phone the team for a narration if it interests me.The character of Babuli Mestri in Dashavatar was new to me. He is a poor, aging folk performer who is virtually blind at night, but he becomes Varaha, Hanuman, Yudhishthir, Bhishma, and Matsya on stage. He is energized by each performance. His transformation from a fragile man to a dynamic performer made the job demanding and inspiring.
