Divya Delhi: According to ARY News, protests protesting energy outages and water scarcity are causing huge traffic bottlenecks, disrupting city commuters. According to Karachi traffic police, Jahangir Road residents protested due to prolonged water and electricity outages, causing heavy traffic, ARY News said. According to ARY News, demonstrators burned tires and barricaded highways, alleging their area had been without power for four days. The ARY News report expects the pipelines to be completely functioning within 17 hours and the city's water supplies to resume within 32 hours.A KWSC representative said water distribution from the Dhabeji pumping station has resumed and would reach Karachi in 12 hours. ARY News reported that Dhabeji's water supply was cut off for three days during maintenance work, leaving District East, Central, and older neighborhoods without water.According to the Express Tribune, a newly repaired pipeline at Karachi's Dhabeji pumping station leaked again. Insufficient water at government hydrants and the closure of many regional pumping stations compounded the situation, according to the Express Tribune. Therefore, citizens had to buy water from tankers at high prices.
