The wedding season begins on 12 November with Prabodhini Ekadashi and ends on 16 December. The Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), an organization of businesses and entrepreneurs, estimates that 45 lakh weddings will occur nationwide during this wedding season.The retail industry, which includes goods and services, may earn Rs 5 lakh crore. This season's 35 lakh marriages generated Rs 4 lakh crore last year. Business is likely to grow this year due to more auspicious marriage dates. CTI General Secretaries Gurmeet Arora and Vishnu Bhargava expect a Rs 1 lakh crore commercial potential from the estimated 4 lakh weddings in Delhi this season. According to CTI There are 16 auspicious wedding days this year: November 12, 13, 17, 18, 22, 23, 25, 26, 28 and 29, and December 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 15. After this, the wedding season will take a month off before returning in mid-January to March 2025. Consumers now choose Indian products over international ones, according to CTI Chairman Brijesh Goyal. These estimations are based on auspicious dates, although individuals who don't consider them get married on other days. Mehendi, sangeet, and engagement parties are also expensive. According to CTI senior vice president Deepak Garg and vice president Rahul Adlakha, Rajesh Khanna, textiles, sarees, lehengas, and other apparel account for 10% of wedding spending, jewelery 15%, electronics, electrical appliances, and consumer durables 5%, dry fruits, sweets, and snacks 5%, grocery and vegetables 5%, gift items 4%, and other items 6%.
