Divya Delhi:  Thomas Müller, the all-time appearance leader for Bayern Munich, reveals that the club's management has turned down his request for a longer contract. The 35-year-old Bayern midfielder revealed to his supporters in tearful words that he wanted to continue with the team longer but that the board turned down his plea. Even though Müller is in top physical condition, Vincent Kompany has substituted him in eight Bundesliga games this season. Although it is yet unclear whether Müller would retire or join a different team, he is now committed to helping Bayern Munich win league titles and the Champions League. "I want to use this letter to shed some light on myself after there has been a lot of conjecture lately. Regardless of how many minutes I play, I still love playing on the field with the boys and competing for our team's championships after all these years. I could have easily envisioned myself doing this again the next year. But the team has made the deliberate decision not to work out a new deal with me for the upcoming campaign. It is crucial that the club adheres to its principles, even if this did not align with my personal preferences. The board and supervisory board did not take this move lightly, and I appreciate it.
