DIVYA DELHI: In response to “bomb threats” received by over 100 schools in the national capital last week, the Delhi High Court on Monday ordered the government and police to report on the nodal officers assigned to such cases and the number of mock drills conducted in city schools. In 2023, counsel Arpit Bhargava petitioned the court to order the Delhi government and police to create a detailed bomb threat action plan for city schools and implement it quickly. A single-judge bench under Justice Subramonium Prasad requested a 10-day status report from the police and Delhi government on the following: - Number of schools per zone - Nodal authority responsible for receiving bomb threats - Action timeframe- Mock drills done by Delhi Police and other departments at schools to ensure safe evacuation of children - Circulars published by the Delhi government and Directorate of Education periodically"Delhi Police to also indicate the action for investigating the hoax calls received," Justice Prasad added.
