Divya Delhi: The Pulwama incident on February 14, 2019, was one of the bloodiest against Indian security forces. A bomb-laden car crashed into a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy, killing 40 CRPF members. Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan-based terrorist group, did the attack. February 14 is a day of grief in India after this tragedy. That day is now a Black Day! The attack caused national indignation, leading India to retaliate with the Balakot airstrike.It’s been 6 hard years after the terrorists did a suicide strike on the convoy of the Indian paramilitary force Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. This attack killed 40 soldiers. A car full of explosives attacked the Indian convoy on its way to Srinagar. A 22-year-old suicide bomber hit the bus. The bus was part of a 2,500 paramilitary personnel and 78 vehicle convoy from Jammu to Srinagar. 22-year-old suicide bomber was identified as Adil Ahmed Dar, a local Kashmiri jihadist from Kakapora in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir. He was with the Pakistani terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.The incident is one of the bloodiest on Indian security forces and caused national mourning. The Pulwama tragedy sparked strong conversations about terrorism and security, marking a major turning point in India's history.Since the Pulwama assault, February 14 has been “Black Day,” when tributes are performed nationwide to honor the martyrs. The attack hurt security officers' morale and united citizens against terrorism. The government responded by boosting security, including border security, anti-terrorism efforts, and equipping forces with cutting-edge technology.Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), a Pakistani terrorist group, planned the attack. The principal conspirator, Mohammad Umar Farooq, had traveled to Afghanistan for explosives training and later invaded India to perform the attack.A Maruti  automobile, bought in early 2019, was particularly modified for the attack and filled with around 200 kg of high-grade explosives, including  and gelatin sticks. JeM leaders like Masood Azhar, Rouf Asgar, and Ammar Alvi were key in organizing the operation.India took a strong political and diplomatic position. India acted decisively after the Pulwama atrocity. On February 26, 2019, the Indian Air Force  launched a pre-dawn attack targeting JeM’s largest terror training camp in Balakot, Pakistan. This very effective mission, code-named mission Bandar, represented the first airstrike inside Pakistan since the 1971 war.Multiple Mirage 2000 fighter planes carried out the raid, demolishing JeM’s Balakot training site.The strike reportedly killed several terrorists, trainers, and senior commanders.The airstrike hit a JeM facility operated by Masood Azhar's brother-in-law, Maulana Yousuf Azhar.Tensions between India and Pakistan rose after India's military reaction, causing IAF and Pakistan Air Force dogfights on February 27, 2019.The sacrifice of the 40 CRPF soldiers in the Pulwama incident is acknowledged with great respect and gratitude. India is committed to fighting terrorism, ensuring that such actions are never forgotten and that perpetrators are punished.On Friday, PM Narendra Modi honored the 40 CRPF members who died in the 2019 Pulwama terror incident.
