Divya Delhi: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) conducted search and seizure operations, according to the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. These activities were carried out at several warehouse facilities owned by well-known e-commerce companies. Amazon and Flipkart were among the e-commerce sites that were looked up in places like Lucknow, Gurugram, and Delhi. According to the Ministry's statement, 24 hand blenders and 215 toys that lacked the required BIS certification were found during a raid on an Amazon warehouse in Lucknow on March 7. The BIS Act of 2016 created the National Standard Body of India, or BIS. It was established to standardize, brand, and certify the quality of products. Standards development, product certification, mandatory registration, foreign manufacturer certification, hall marking, laboratory services, laboratory recognition, and the sale of Indian standards are only a few of the tasks that BIS is involved in.
