 
 
 Divya Delhi: Although much of India's 15-man Test selection for the home series against the West Indies was predicted, the withdrawal of middle-order hitter Sarfaraz Khan was surprising. Sarfaraz has done well in domestic cricket in recent seasons, making his absence a big topic again. At the team announcement press conference, chief selector Ajit Agarkar clarified rumors. Agarkar said Sarfaraz Khan has a “niggle” and is not fit for the two-match Test series.Sarfaraz's elimination is unrelated to his form. His recent domestic numbers further boost his national selection case. The Mumbai hitter has also worked on his fitness and slimmer frame to increase his prospects, which many cricketers have praised.Sarfaraz's timing hasn't been good. He worked hard, but a small ailment at a vital time held him out of contention. Agarkar stated that Sarfaraz must be totally fit before returning to national duty.
