Divya Delhi:  Pakistan will play five T20I matches in New Zealand without skipper Mohammad Rizwan and star batter Babar Azam. This is the first squad announcement since their Champions Trophy exit at home. Rizwan vice captain Salman Agha will lead the T20I team, while Shadab Khan will return as vice captain. Rizwan leads in  while pacer Shaheen Afridi is absent, foreshadowing another Pakistani squad selection change. Pakistan changed leadership and batting strategy for the T20I series against New Zealand. Salman Ali Agha captains and Shadab Khan vice-captains, replacing Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. As usual, Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf bowl, but without Naseem Shah. Khushdil Shah joins spinners Sufiyaan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed. Even if Aaqib Javed did not replace Rizwan as T20I captain, his five-match losing streak suggests it. The only major alteration to Pakistan's ODI team is Shaheen Afridi, who excelled in the series wins against South Africa and Australia. Rizwan captains the ODI team, which includes Babar, Abdullah Shafique, and Sufiyaan Muqeem. Akif Javed makes his ODI debut, boosting Pakistan's pace attack. To recover from their Champions Trophy failure, the team will play five T20Is in New Zealand from March 16 and three ODIs.
