Divya Delhi: Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui was protected by the Mumbai Police after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang allegedly tried to attack him at a Delhi hotel last month. According to Money Control, police officials said the Mumbai Police increased the comedian's protection after the incident. Faruqui was threatened after gang members booked a room at the same hotel where he was staying for a September event. Three guys shot and killed former Maharashtra minister and NCP politician Baba Siddique outside his son's office in Mumbai on Saturday evening. The police nabbed two of three gunmen who claimed ties to the Bishnoi gang, whose boss Lawrence is in Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail. The Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for Baba Siddique's murder and threatened Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who was close to him, in an unsubstantiated social media post. The Bishnoi gang has threatened Khan repeatedly. The NCP leader was killed months after two shooters fired five rounds outside Khan's Galaxy Apartment in Bandra on April 14. The attackers were caught in Gujarat. A charge sheet from the Mumbai Police linked incarcerated criminal Lawrence Bishnoi to the shooters.
