Divya Delhi: Azadpur Mandi has made a decision to stop import of apples from Turkey. This move from Azadpur Mandi came after Turkey backed Pakistan. As quoted by  Azadpur Fruit Mandi Chairman, Meetha Ram Kriplani mentioned, “We have decided to discontinue all new imports of apples from Turkey. While consignments ordered earlier will still arrive, no further trade in apples or other produce will take place going forward.” He also mentioned, “We have supported Turkish trade for years, but the current circumstances have left us with no choice.” This move came after the shocking Pahalgam Attack which took place on April 22, 2025, where terrorists opened fire on a group of tourists, resulting in multiple injuries. In this attack 26 were killed and several injured.  In reply to the Pahalgam attack, the Indian Armed Forces successfully executed ‘Operation Sindoor’  targeting key terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. There were drone attacks from Pakistan, which were neutralised by India. Later a ceasefire was done between India and Pakistan. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Friday, May 9, 2025, informed about the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. He said both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea, effective from 1700 hours of Indian Standard Time. However, on the same day, Pakistan violated the ceasefire.
