After a legislative party meeting led by Arvind Kejriwal at his Delhi home earlier today, Atishi was proposed. Kejriwal will resign later today and meet Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena at 4:30 pm. The third woman Delhi Chief Minister after Sheila Dikshit and Sushma Swaraj is Atishi. AAP leader Gopal Rai says Atishi has two main duties. First, she must serve Delhi residents against BJP pressure. The second is that if BJP wants to undo Arvind Kejriwal's good work, she would defend AAP's gains and expose BJP's attempts.Arvind Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on September 13 for his suspected role in the Delhi liquor policy case. Kejriwal announced his 48-hour resignation as Chief Minister on Sunday, nearly two days after his release.He also demanded early Delhi elections and swore not to become chief minister until people handed him a “certificate of honesty”.
