Divya Delhi: Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami attended the 'Equality and Harmony' program at Acharya Camp, Sector-09, Gangeshwar Marg, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, all the saints thanked the Chief Minister for being the first to establish the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state of Uttarakhand. The saints also felicitated him with floral garlands.Expressing his appreciation to all the saints, the Chief Minister said that getting the blessings of venerated saints on the hallowed land of Triveni, during the auspicious occasion of Mahakumbh, is a wonderful fortune. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's goal of a developed India needs saints' blessings. He said that implementing the UCC is a step toward a developed society, and the saints' recognition is an honor for all Uttarakhand citizens.The Chief Minister stated they promised to enact the UCC in Uttarakhand before the 2022 assembly elections. The people blessed them, and after creating the government, the first decision given in the cabinet meeting was to constitute a committee for the UCC. Uttarakhand was the first state in independent India to implement the Uniform Civil Code under PM Shri Narendra Modi.Dhami added that the rule now applies equally to all Uttarakhand residents, regardless of caste or religion. He credited PM Modi's blessings for the UCC's victory in the state. The Chief Minister also mentioned the Constitution's authors, who wanted equal laws for everybody.Highlighting Uttarakhand as a land of Gods (Devbhoomi), Dhami remarked that the state, known for the Ganga, Yamuna, Char Dham, and the presence of saints, is a location where every family has a member of the armed forces, serving the nation. He said the state's youth are serving the nation everywhere.The Chief Minister said the Maha Kumbh symbolizes India's extensive Sanatan culture. He said that gaining the blessings of famous saints during the Kumbh was one of his biggest life achievements. Dhami stressed that Sanatan culture has always welcomed unity and equality, teaching people the right to equality. Inspired by this, the Uttarakhand government took the daring decision to implement the UCC. Dhami said the UCC, which began in Uttarakhand, would spread nationwide and is a revolutionary step toward justice and equality. He said the UCC's implementation fits PM Modi's "Ek Bharat, Shresth Bharat" (One India, Great India) vision. Dhami stated this endeavor is vital for future generations.The Chief Minister said the UCC will end such atrocities, referring to Shraddha Walkar's 2022 murder in Delhi. He promised that no one would commit future crimes against women. He was sure all states would adopt the UCC.Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Giri Maharaj called Uttarakhand a holy place and that its CM was beloved by all saints. Swami Kailashanand Giri further noted that Uttarakhand, a tiny state, was the first to implement the UCC. He praised Chief Minister Dhami for strengthening India by enacting this law and anticipated that more states will follow Uttarakhand's lead.Swami Kailashanand Giri said that the Uttarakhand government's UCC implementation ended social discrimination and showed the state's respect for Indian customs. He was proud that the saints' state was the first to adopt the UCC. He further added that the UCC committee had met with saints for their perspectives before making the. reality.Uttarakhand, with its four Dhams and the holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna, picked Chief Minister Dhami for his dedication to the state, said Swami Chidanand Muni Maharaj. He praised Dhami's efforts to meet the UCC demand, which raised India's stature, and noted the special link between PM Modi and Uttarakhand. He added that the UCC, which represents all of society and opens a new route for India, was a major stride for Uttarakhand under Dhami's leadership.Many devotees and revered saints, including Mahamandaleshwar Swami Balkananad Giri Maharaj, Mahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj, Mahant Hari Giri Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Narayan Giri Maharaj, Mahamandaleshwar Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, and Mahamandaleshwar Swami Ashutoshanand Giri Maharaj, attended the event.
