Divya Delh: According to an RT article, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is still ready to a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine issue but is awaiting indications from Kiev to begin direct talks again. Speaking at a regular news briefing, he pointed out that the situation on the ground is changing quickly despite Ukraine's reluctance to commit to a third round of negotiations. According to RT, Peskov stated, "We should wait for some signals from the Kiev regime, who should say whether they want to hold a third round of direct talks or not." "We have stated time and time again that we would prefer to use peaceful political-diplomatic methods to accomplish our goals."Additionally, Peskov cautioned that "the special military operation continues, and realities on the ground are changing every day, as long as this outcome is impossible," according to RT. A third session of direct negotiations between Russia and Ukraine has not yet been organized, according to RT, despite the fact that two rounds were held in Istanbul earlier this year in mid-May and early June. After a brief hiatus, the United States has apparently started supplying Ukraine with weaponry.
