Divya Delhi: As part of their increased crackdown on activities they believe are tied to terrorism, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have conducted a number of raids in different parts of North and Central Kashmir. Sopore, Baramulla, Handwara, Ganderbal, and Srinagar are among the places that the operation began bombing on Saturday morning. The searches are being conducted in connection with the continuous attempts to disrupt terror networks in Kashmir, according to official sources. The arrest of three members of the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in central Kashmir's Kawoosa Narbal district the day before prompted the current round of preventative actions. Aglar Pattan natives Muzamil Ahmad and Ishfaq Pandit, as well as Meeripora Beerwah native Muneer Ahmad, are among those who have been apprehended. Authorities found a hand grenade and a revolver during the operation. The apprehended individuals were found to have strong connections to Aabid Qayoom Lone, a notorious LeT terrorist who fled to Pakistan in 2020 and is presently operating out of Pakistan, according to investigations. It is widely thought that Lone was instrumental in radicalizing young people in the Narbal-Magam area of Budgam district and coordinating their recruitment into terrorist activities. The suspects that were seized were allegedly planning terror attacks and recruiting young people into extremism, and the police have indicated that he was their mentor.
