Divya Delhi: Pacer Arshdeep Singh said men's bowling coach Morne Morkel battles Indian bowlers to ‘pin them out’ to terminate a session. Morkel caught Arshdeep off guard to pinch him between his legs in the BCCI's social media video. The instructor demonstrated various maneuvers, including pinning the left-arm pacer by sitting over him. The video shows Arshdeep explaining the new activity: “Morne has told us that, ‘As soon as your session is over, I'll make the last move, pin you out, and then there will be no practice’. He demonstrated his innovative method today." As India fell 1-0 in the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Morkel's role became more important. As in Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the team's bowling seemed over-reliant on a semi-fit Jasprit Bumrah, which contributed to the five-wicket loss at Headingley. Mohammed Siraj, who is overworked and inconsistent, hasn't stepped up when needed, nor have Shardul Thakur and Prasidh Krishna. Akash and Arshdeep may play in the second game in Birmingham due to reports that Bumrah may rest. This will create an intriguing dynamic. Akash has played for India, and England's conditions should suit him, but the home batters' aggressiveness will test him. Given his IPL experience, Arshdeep would be better suited to handle such aggression, but he has yet to play Test cricket for India and his stamina and skill in days cricket are still unknown.
